Finals Day 2010
The draw has been finalised for Finals Day this Saturday. We have two teams playing in the finals.
Inkfish are playing in the 3rd Div Men’s Final at 1.50 on water 2
…New World are contesting the reserve men’s Final at 3.20 on water 2.
Make sure you get down to the turf this Saturday to cheer on these teams as they look to bring home some medals and glory.

Prizegiving 2010 is approaching!
Make sure you keep Saturday 4 September free, it’s almost that time of year again… Varsity Prizegiving!
After a day in the sun watching finals hockey, we’ll head to CBD Corner Pub where the celebrations will continue long into the night.
Cost: $5
Where: CBD Corner Pub, 28 Hood Street
When: Saturday 4 September, 7:30pm onwards
What: Prizegiving, food, drink, good company
In the meantime, the draw for semi-finals weekend should be out soon and we are likely to have quite a few teams vying for spots in the finals. Hope to see lots of supporters there and at finals day!

Club AGM
The club AGM will be held at 8:30pm after trainings on Tuesday 10 August, in the Old Collegians Pavilion at St Pauls. It should only be a short meeting but we do need to have enough people there to do it properly.
If you have any nominations for positions can you please pass them on to Shelley (secretary@varsityhockey.co.nz). If you are keen to be involved in other ways then please turn up, or otherwise let Shelley know so you can be notified of committee meetings. The club is run by volunteers and the more people we have helping then the easier and better it is for everyone!

Varsity Hockey Op-Shop Ball
The Varsity Hockey Op-Shop Ball is back! Head down to the op-shop and spend a couple of dollars on a pimping suit or retro dress for one of the social nights of the year. This year is bigger and better as we have a live band for the evening - The Binding Junos!
Tickets cost $20 and should be purchased beforehand at trainings (there may be a limited number of door sales but don’t bet on it). Beverages of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic varieties as well as some finger food will be provided. Dress up or feel left out!

When: Saturday 14th August 2010, 8pm - 12 midnight

Ben Gilby-Todd Memorial Match
CBD University Premier Men vs Suburbs Premier Men
Saturday 8 May 2010 at 3:10pm
Turf 1, Gallagher Hockey Centre
This match is for a trophy donated by the Gilby-Todd family, in remembrance of Ben Gilby-Todd, who played for the Suburbs Piako Premier Men’s team and also the CBD University Premier Men’s team.
This is an annual event to be played between these two teams.
